“I feel sorry for the insurance company lawyers that underestimate Anna! She is a firecracker if that’s what the situation calls for!” – Keith Mark, Senior Partner (and Anna’s dad).
From a young age,
Anna learned to be passionate about helping injured workers from her father, Keith. Anna comes from a long line of union workers in her family and takes the fight to protect her hard-working, blue-collar clients very personally. She is committed to ensuring that her clients receive the benefits they are entitled to. So far in her young career, Anna has already yielded great results in guiding her clients through the workers’ compensation system.
Anna grew up in Kansas City, Kansas, and attended Bishop Ward High School, where she graduated Valedictorian of her class in 2009. After high school, she attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas, where she majored in General Business Management and Human Resource Management. Anna graduated from K-State in 2013 with Summa Cum Laude honors.
After college, Anna attended Washburn University School of Law in Topeka, Kansas. While in law school, Anna was a member of several organizations, including Phi Alpha Delta law fraternity, Pro Bono Society and the Washburn Student Bar Association. Anna was elected as the Pro Bono Society Fundraising Chairperson and helped organize numerous fundraisers, including the annual law school comedy show. She also worked under the Washburn Law Marketing Communications Department, with her primary focus in the social media division.
Anna is a member of the Kansas Bar Association, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association – Young Lawyers Section, the Kansas Trial Lawyers Association, the Association for Women Lawyers of Greater Kansas City, the Johnson County Bar Association, and the Wyandotte County Bar Association. She also frequently attends workers’ compensation and union seminars.
While attending law school,
Anna received several awards from CALI Excellence for the Future by writing the top paper in a number of classes, including Workers’ Compensation. In 2016, Anna earned her Juris Doctor degree when she graduated from Washburn with honors.
In her personal life, Anna enjoys traveling, reading, attending concerts and playing sand volleyball. She is also a lifelong Royals, Chiefs and K-State Wildcats fan and attends games often.
“With the way the workers compensation system is designed, injured workers have the chips stacked against them from the get-go. Representing these workers, that the system is designed to cheat, is my passion and drives me to work my absolute hardest every single day.” – Anna
